Shopping Centre Information Displays

Date: 26 March to 17 May 2008
Shopping Centres: Galleria Morley, Garden City, Karrinyup, Carousel, Whitford City, Rockingham City and Lakeside Joondalup.

Between March and May 2008, "Freckles" the frog visited seven metropolitan shopping centres to hear what the Perth community had to say about their water future. More than 2500 people visited the stand, which was staffed by approximately 70 Water Corporation volunteers. Over 600 people in total had their say, and this feedback is now being incorporated into the next phase of Water Forever.

 The six most popular topics commented on at
 shopping centres were:

  • conserving water use inside and outside the home;
  • cost of water
  • using more recycled water in industry, homes and gardens;
  • the need for more rainwater tanks for residences, schools and businesses;
  • seawater desalination; and
  • managing environmental impacts/ working to improve the environment.
